In Case of Emergency?

Posted on

A few trips ago, flight attendants started to ask me and whoever I was traveling with what I would do in case of an emergency. Maybe it’s a new policy? Perhaps it makes them feel better to hear us say that we’ve got it covered, and perhaps we do – I imagine that adrenaline will push us to do what is necessary. I can still walk a teeny bit with support, and I always travel with an able-bodied adult, so the truth is we will probably figure it out.

But what I really want to say is: “we will all be dead if the plane crashes, so does it really matter?” And if by chance we end up on a desert island, like in Lost, I’m screwed anyway – have you ever seen a wheelchair in sand? They had to cure John Locke, or else it would have been pretty boring to watch him sit in one spot for six seasons.
